-Ed Asner There was a time when nature was worshipped, but as man has become more knowledgeable he has turned away from the very nature that he loved and worshipped so dearly. He has diverted his entire focus and attention on making life smoother and easier, and the results of this are the great technological advancements that we see today. Though advancements in technology have made our lives a lot easier, we have conveniently forgotten about the harmful impact on nature and its resources. Now, the consequences of the large-scale destruction of nature and its valuable resources that we have so callously and recklessly carried out in the name of growth and development have begun to torment us. The exploitation of nature has resulted in desertification, deforestation, oil depletion, extinction of species, soil erosion, ozone depletion, and greenhouse gas increases, all of which have impacted our lives negatively.
